School Field Trips

Educational organizations of all types have discovered that this garden is a living interactive learning museum! Schools may choose to conduct a self-guided tour with their students or to request a private tour led by one of our knowledgeable docents.  Appropriate for students of all ages.  Students will learn about the Chinese, Hmong, and Dakota features in the Garden and their cultural significance.

Upon request, we can provide a script with the history of the garden for instructors to read on the bus, docent materials for your teachers, and templates for a scavenger hunt. Our Arc-GIS map (when completed) will provide curricular guidance for middle school students, in addition to layered information about all garden elements from plants and their symbolism to poetry and its role. Instructors are responsible for the safety of your guests and we strongly recommend adequate potable drinking water, bug repellant, and a first aid kit.

To schedule your visit, contact MCFGS Outreach Chair, Romi Slowiak (ro*********@***********en.org) to avoid overlapping tours.
